got a kong wobbler. it's great!
here doodoo demonstrates its use.
wrong way:
right way:
he loves this thing. he took to it instictively, figuring out how to make it wobble and dispense treats right away. at 16 pounds he is a little smaller than the recommended weight class for this product, but as you can see it doesn't really matter.
i am mildly concerned he may bust up some furniture with it, though. it's heavy and he gets pretty riled up with it. on the plus side, it keeps his focus, and gives me time to get work done. it even kept him distracted when the cat was nearby-- a first!

good boy
today i found doodoo sniffing, pawing, and pouncing at something on the floor. on my approach i realized it was a nasty looking insect. i told him to leave it (and suprisingly he did) so that i could stomp on it.
it was very scary looking, but i didn't recognize it. after i squished it, and some gross bug juice got all over my shoe, i examined the insect more closely. it wasn't dead, and the pincers on its posterior opened and closed ever so slightly. into the toilet it went, and onto the internet i went to figure out what type of bug it was...
IT WAS AN EARWIG!
good boy, doodoo. thank you for pointing out the horrid thing before it crawled into my ear and bored into my brain.* you're an awesome dog.
*i know earwigs don't really do that. and now i know how scary they look!
